The preparations for the D-Day landings (Operation Overlord) were vast and complex. Entire books have been written on the subject, none of which could hope to detail every aspect of the planning and execution of this massive amphibious invasion.
We’ll be replaying parts of the landings and events of the following few days in miniature. We hope you’ll join us!
Operation Overlord (weekend wargaming) takes place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of June 2024. Wargaming D-Day beach landings and the days that followed.
The Big Drop is all about parachute drops on the evening of Friday 7th. The consequences of which will impact Operation Overlord on Saturday morning!

Orders
The games will use the Bolt Action 2nd Edition rules by Warlord Games.
Our intention is to run a narrative ‘mini-campaign’ as opposed to a competitive tournament.
We’ll be wargaming Operation Overlord at Common Ground Games in Stirling on the 8th – 9th June 2024.
The Big Drop, a mini event for airborne parachute drops, takes place on the evening of Friday 7th. The Big Drop is also hosted by one of our supporters, Common Ground Games.
Stirlingshire has a small story of its own during the preparations for D-Day.
A replica Atlantic Wall was constructed on the Sheriffmuir hills. This was one of five known replica walls which were used for training exercises in the UK during the run-up to D-Day.
We’ll add more information on where to park, places to stay and how to get around.
